Light timers?

What are you guys using for automatic light timers?

i know theres a nice 8 plug programmable unit on the internet that everyone and their mother sells, it does 4 plugs on the timer and 4 constant power. however its a single timer, so all 4 of those outlets turn on at the same time.

i want to stagger 2 - 3 light sources. are there any small digital or mechanical timers (most of the mechanical ones are huge) i can use? or a unit with 2 to 3 separate timers?

links to online retailers would be awesome.

This is a great source for timers and DIY ideas... The strip you speak of is on this link, but they are not that good and there are better quality units available.

thanks orlando, just ordered a CO2 kit from you this morning!

for the link below, does 'dual' mean it just has two outlets, or does it mean it has two separate timers for independent control of each of the two outlets?

Thanks BlakeAronson!

Yes, that timer has dual outlets. My guess is that you can control both outlets independently. I will take a closer look at it and see if I cant come up with something. If anything give them a call and they should be able to answer this fairly quickly.

This may be something where a person (like me) with an electrical background could make diy compound timers and sell 'em... hmmmm... I think i have a project for this weekend!

Please do, and the smaller the better. FWIW, my local Walmart sells cheapo power strips with 3-4" between each plug for $5.

This is what I have. They are pricey but I really like them. Petsmart carries them for about $44. If they don't have the coralife they may have the Zilla that is identical to this for the same price. Think they are made by the same people because they look identical. This is different than the Zilla you have linked. This allows for timing two sets of lights and one set of moon lights and has a always on outlet.
