Do I still need to add Excel if I have started a diy co2 injection system?

Hello,

I recently set up a diy co2 injection system consisting of 2L x 2 for my 55 gallon planted tank. It has been up and running for 1 week now. I have already seen an increase in growth rate in some of the plants. I originally started this tank using Excel as my method of carbon supplementation. So since I now have co2 injection, do I really need to continue the Excel. I know that some people just Excel as an algaecide. I have never had any major issues with algae.

Here's a link to my tank's progess journal and you can get more details on the set up and inhabitants there.

thanks,

Using it will help plant growth, especially with certain plants like HC, which you don't have. Heh.

I run pressurized CO2 and will dose a little Excel once or twice a week, probably because I still have some left. Otherwise, it'll be fine without Excel.

depends on how much CO2 you have. you should have 20-30ppm. if you have less, you should keep dosing excel (though you may be fine without it). i have 30 ppm on pressurized and still dose excel (underdose though) with waterchanges, since it cant hurt.
