Fishless planted tank, should I dose N?

I`ve had my little 5.5 gallon set up since 8/21 and I`m slowly building an aquascape. There seems to be an ammonia source, likely from decaying plants or squashed snails, as the tank is cycling itself. I`ve just been in contact with the betta breeder I want my fish from and it looks like I`ll be getting him in two weeks. Since he`s the only fauna I have planned, that means two more weeks with no steady source of nitrogenous waste (other than the mystery ammonia source of course.)

So far I have only dosed Flo
urish a few times and have not yet started my DIY CO2 (maybe this weekend?) I have Seachem`s NPK line and I was wondering if/when I need to start dosing the macros. In particular it seems like without fish waste I should need nitrogen sooner than later?

I`ll contin
ue researching the whole fertilization issue, still trying to wrap my head around it, but advice would be most helpful! I really don`t want to get behind the eight ball when it comes to algae!

What plants do you have? What lights? WE need details to answer anything.

Three stems Hygrophila difformis. 15-20 stems Rotala indica. 3-4 small rhizomes Microsorum pteropus `dwarf needle leaf`. 4 small rhizomes Anubias barteri var. `nana petite`. Twenty-seven watts compact fluorescent light on a ~5 hour photoperiod (thinking I should bump that up soon.)

Hope this helps!

OK, I'm still testing with plenty of nitrite and nitrate so I don't think N supplementation is necessary yet. But since I sometimes like to add bone meal to my newly planted terrestrial plants to promote root growth, I went ahead and dosed a little phosphorus yesterday. Hope that wasn't dumb.
