so ive had diatoms for about a month now and ive heard that they go away after a bit a month isnt a bit lol. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it? is my flow not enough (im using a cheap HOB filter) Is my tank full of too many excess silicates (i had the tank for 7 years before making it planted) any help suggestions appreciated!!!

ps i already have 4 otos but they dont seem to eat the diatoms on the substrate just the diatoms on the plants

There are silicate absorbing medias out there which should limit the diatom growth.
