New Tank Setup

Okay, finally got my 90g up and running, cycled awhile ago, added livestock on Wednesday and then added the plants on Friday.

I have as far as Livestock -
2 Discus (1 Blue Checkboard Male,1 Red Pigeon Female)
12 Neon Tetra
8 Harlequinn Rasbora
8 Juli Cory Catfish
1 Nio Regrea Pleco, Might be wrong spelling here
1 Male Betta
4 Amanaco Shrimp
2 Painted Swordtails
2 Electric Blue Rams

Lots of different plants.

Everything has been doing good, been checking the parameters, 7.4 PH, 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 10-20 Nitrates. Was a little concerned that the PH was going to be to high for the Rams and Discus, but I acclimated them as best I could, didn't rush it. They seem to be doing fine, Except

The blue checkerboard discus, I can't get him to eat, I've tried everything, flakes, freeze dried bloodworms (hard to get them down to him), Frozen brine shrimp (tried this one multiple ways). Gets right in front of him and he wont' touch it. Everyone else, including the other discus and the 2 rams are eating (they won't go to the top, but if it floats around them, which I make sure of, they will eat)

Most of the time he'll stay by the 2 sides of the tank where he can see himself and just float there. Lately he's been moving around the tank more and more, but still won't eat, and now he's darkened up pretty good. VERY dark blue, almost black. Don't know what to do with him.

I even did a 50% water change on Friday, plus cleaning right before I planted (this tank is really tall so I had to get water out to plant).

Then redid my API tests, all my levels are good.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

That could be the problem why the fish isn't eating. They like warmer temperatures. I had discus years ago, I remember keeping my temp in the mid to high 80's. It could be a totally different problem hard to say....

I agree with dwair your temp is a little low. Have you tried froze blood worms they seem to be the food all fish eat for me. I also would keep your water changes up. But discus can be picky eaters and can go on hunger strikes. Your PH shouldn't be a problem but how soft of water do you have?

PS your tank looks great!!

Thanks, I put my heater in and I've got the temp up to 85.6. Might be a little to high, still trying to adjust this heater, had it set to 84 and it went up even more.

I haven't tried frozen blood worms, just frozen brine shrimp.

Thanks for the compliment on the tank!

First planted tank, the baby tears on the wood in the front though is dying. Not sure what I can do. I've been daily dosing with Excel, I've done my weekly fert dose yesterday already.
