Cloudy water

My Co2 cylinder dried up and made a DIY C02 with baking soda/yeast/sugar in a 1.5 litre drinking bottle.I have a 5ft Tank. The BPS was set one/second.Today morning when I checked the tank had become cloudy. My ph reading is 7.3/-.

Any idea what went wrong.

Could have gotten some yeast in the tank. I would get a Cheap pair of Panty Hose, Fill one leg with carbon, tie a knot in it cut off the excess and drop it in the tank, It helps!

Thanks,I have made a 50 % WC but the tank is still very cloudy.Luckily I did not add any fish or liverstock only plants. How many % WC is needed to remove the cloudy water. So you recommend adding carbon.Correct..

This is the second time its happening.Last time my marine tank was affected and I lost 3 to 4 fishes.Any way I can conrol the yeast.I prepared it in a 1.5litrs bottle with 1 /2 tsp yeast,1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 250 grm sugar.

as far as how much of a WC i couldn't tell you for sure, But yes Carbon is a GOOD thing, i run it on all of my tank's, Few water changes, High fish loads, and NO problems with fish, Plants are another story but the Fish are healthy!

it could be a bacterial bloom if you just cleaned out your filter or replaced the media. it should clear up in a few days if thats the case.
