Osmocote plus in a shrimp tank - safe?

Is it safe to use osmocote plus in a shrimp tank? since it has .05% copper in it i think. I've used the seachem flourish tabs in my 1st shrimp tank and they all seem fine with the .001% the flourish tabs have, and they are all fine. but .05% is alot compared to .001%.

It contains ammonia. If it makes its way up to the surface, it will kill your shrimp. Osmocote was never intended to be used as an aquarium fertilizer. We get away with it by burring it deep in the substrate and hope it never surfaces. I use it in some of my tanks but I can't recommend it in a shrimp tank.
