Excel kills what
Does anybody have a list of plants that excel will kill?
Right know I have DIY CO2 going in my tank and I have algae out the yin yang and I was pondering using Excel.
My Plants-
-
Echinodorus
'
Kleiner Bär
'
-
Cryptocoryne Wendtii
red
-
Rotala Indica
-
Hygrophila difformis
-
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Are any of these gonna melt if I put excel in?

Excel will kill EVERYTHING if overdosed.
I think the main concern was for Vals. They are super sensitive for some reason.

Vals, Egeria, Elodea, Hydrilla, Lagarosiphon are the known plant genera that are sensitive to it.

Excel I think has copper in it, that (the trace amounts of copper) will kill the Vals

a guy i know kills them whenever he puts too much in. they apparently can survive low dosing. he warned me about using it with mine. he recommended 1ml dose for my 42 gal tank. sure someone else here could offer better guidelines though as i might have misunderstood the amount.

My rcs do fine with 5ml in a 29g, i even overdosed to 8ml in a 29 every other day and saw no ill effects (unless you consider algae death to be an ill effect)

You can get excel on drfoster, petmountain, ebay as well. If your gonna get some and plan on using for a while go ahead and get as big as u can for as cheap as you can. I got a 2L for $22 bargain considering 100ml bottle at the lfs cost $10, so shop around
