Cheapest planted tank ever?

Call me ignorant, but I have
Never measured my pH
Never measured kH
Never measured N P or K
Never monitored the temperature (dont have a heater for my aquarium)
I have a crappy Aquaclear 60 (No Eheims)
Havent bought a single thing from ADA (Booooooo)

Sure my tank looks like a work of an amateur, and wouldnt get more than 5 out 10 here at the forums.

Am I just riding luck at the moment? or will it turn into soup some day?

Started it in June 08.

What should I invest in?
Things I want to invest in:
>Co2 Ladder/diffuser/reactor (the bell diffuser is just plain ugly and doesnt work well)
> what else should i invest in?

Me either *L*. But hey what works for you is good in my eyes.

Your tanks looking good, give it a bit more time and it will fill in.

Very nice tank! Cheapest ever? Doubt it. How much did you spend?

We should have a "cheapskate aquascaping contest." A Cheapscape!!! That would be awesome!!! Winner gets foodstamps or something.

For reference, he's a $29.99 "Walmart Special" 10g with stock everything except the incandescent bulbs. I added some sand from a volleyball court. Never tested anything. Inputs: Shrimp food. Outputs: Shrimp. It's about 8 months old.

Use your best announcer voice: Mistergreen makes a pass at the lead, but macclellan pulls in front by a few dollars!!! This one might be a photo-finish folks, but there are still a few laps to go!!!

These are the cheapest: Old burned out lightbulb, river sand from big aquarium, extra plants from big aquarium, guppy fry from big aquarium. The guppies were only in there for the pic, dont even know if you can see them (taken with a cellphone) The light was from the paludarium next to them. Did a 50% wc every other day, had them set up for a couple of months before I need the desk space.
