Would black mollies help this algae?

Until I can get it under control, would 2 or 3 black mollies help take away some of this algae? It's starting to get out of hand. Thanks!

That is the only regular pet shop fish that will actually benefit from some salt in the water as it's a brakish water fish. Perfectly OK to keep them in freash however.
Can't tell from the picture if it's staghorn or Cladophora algae but Mollies like softer types of algae. They might eat some of it but no gaurantees.
The size of the tank matters also as they like wide open spaces and when I kept some in a 10g tank they constantly ran up and down the front glass looking for more space to occupy/roam in.
If your tank is 29g or more they make a nice schooling fish though so no harm in trying a few.

Hello A...

Any of the livebearing fishes like algae as a food supplement. Mollies are higher maintenance than the others. So, you'll have to keep the tank water especially pure. The larger, more frequent water changes will also help keep algae under control.

Any of the livebearers will benefit from a little standard aquarium salt added to their tank water. I dose a teaspoon or so in every 5 gallons of new, treated tap water for all my fish.
