Do i really need to turn off a small DIY CO2 at night?

i have a 42 gal aquarium with 2wpg lighting. my tap water comes out around 4-5 KH with 7.4ish ph giving me somewhere in the neighborhood of 5ppm co2. i added a red sea 1 liter yeast system just to bump up the co2 a little bit. i didn't expect this system to get me over 10ppm so i'm wondering if i even have to bother shutting it off at night? i doesn't seem to start up right (the little pump that disolves the co2). it really has a hard time getting going in the morning. also should i run an airstone at night? do i need to even bother?

thanks any advice would be appreciated.

I have the Red sea CO2 as well, and I have it on a timer at the moment. I am doing that because the package said it would be smart to do that. I need to get a CO2 monitor. Anybody know a good one?

I have had diy co2 on 2 tanks. Both with cannister filters. I have never turned them off or ran an airstone at night without any issues. BUT, every situation and tank/filter is different. Do yourself a favor and get a drop checker with some 4dkh solution to be safe.

I have a Hagen CO2 system in a 15g tank. I never shut it off at night, and neither do I use an airstone. I have around 6.2 pH and 1-2 gH. Never had a pH drop or anything.
