Shrimp + my big tank = no shrimp?

Hi all,

So my setup right now is 2 2.5g shrimp tanks (CRS and RCS) and one big (to me) 30g low-tech planted tank. I am planning on going back to school soon and I need to reduce my time commitment to tank upkeep.

Initially I was thinking of breaking down the 30, selling it and moving to a nice 10g ADA tank that would be planted and high-tech, and keeping one separate shrimp tank (2.5 or 5g for CRS). But I'm thinking now of consolidation instead; I may move my RCS to the big tank and just keep one CRS tank.

Here's the question: I have 2 rhinogobius wui, 2 aspidoras, 3 oto cats, 3 honey gouramis, 12 rasboras espeiis, and 1 threadfin rainbow - will my red cherries get eaten if I put them into this tank? I'm most worried about the Honey Gouramis and the Rhinogobius...thoughts? Thanks!

Say bye bye to the baby shrimp.

The gourami will probably go after the shrimp.

Hmm...ok thanks to the both of you! I guess I'll have to think of an alternative. Maybe I'll break down the 30g ( though I really hate to given that I've invested so much time and $ into it). I suppose I could get rid of the gouramis and just move my shrimp in. You guys don't think gobies would be a problem?

gobies are nice little hunters. If you want to raise shrimps, best to just keep only shrimps... You can add really small fish like otos, micro fishes. That's about it.
