Fissidens is #1. Weeping and Christmas Moss are tied #2.

I always liked this "Scaping with Fissidens" aquarium, but this person doesn't know the species: http://www.plantgeek.net/forum/viewt...dc9601e4a6ca35

"Fissiden" - poll only named the genus, and incorrectly...I'm assuming you mean Fissidens fontanus - because it looks elegant, is easy to grow, and is very low maintenance.

Flame is my favorite ATM.

Fissidens is one that I haven't tried yet that I really want to and plan to in the near future. (There are a bunch of species of Fissidens, some native to the US and some to Asia...)

I also love Pellia, and Suesswassertang, and all the others... hmm I just love moss in general!

I'm about to plant my first tank this week with Fissidens splachnobryoides for the "lawn," Plagiomnium Trichomanes for the leaves on the "trees" in the grove, and some Dwarf Hairgrass within the grove to illustrate undergrowth. 10 gallon, 65 watt 65K clip lamp, pond soil toped with playsand for substrate, liquid ferts, fish will be cories and a betta. Going to buy the filter and ferts today. Buying the plants this week!!!

Java moss. I like it, my shrimp like it. And we don't care if others say it's ugly.

There are many mis spellings here! Fontanus is the more common one, but I was leaving it open for anything. Where are your photos? Doesnt anyone have any photos to share?

Here are some that are not mine,

Fissidens fontanus

I like Fissidens the best, as well.

I really like the look of Riccia, but I'm giving up on it. I got it growing very nicely on some slate rocks only to have it let go and float to the top. I guess the new growth shaded the older growth that was netted down. So now it's just peeling off the rocks and floating to the surface. I had just cleaned it out Sunday evening only to have a ton more floating all over now.

Fissidens is just so graceful and delicate looking. Really beautiful and no floating headaches!

ya i had some riccia and it did just that. the old growth got no light and died. then the huge clump floated to the surface. i was lazy and kept putting off cleaning it out, then it got infested with algea. i threw it away.
