Ive seen somebody jam a piece of bamboo chop-stick in the end of some tubing to make tiny bubbles and it seemed to work very well from the pictures.

I am going the route of the Chinese chopstick co2 diffuser. How can you tell if the chopstick is bamboo or not?

Thanks

I found a small glass diffuser on eBay for $8 from Hong Kong. It's about the diameter of a quarter. That might be small enough.

On a 3gl, honestly I've run open end tubing in a 5gl bucket (probably around 3gl of water volume) and it was enough to drop pH off the chart. I don't think you'll have much trouble getting a good level in 3gl no matter what you do.

My favorite cheap method is Coralife limewood diffusers, probably the same concept as a wooden chopstick.

mizu-chan does the chopstick thing. I think she even has pictures of it in her 20L thread.

Okay i decided to try what other people have suggested when i researched it up on google. I put a bit of the end of a cigarette filter into the end of the tube and it lets out nice and tiny bubbles.

How many of these bubbles should be coming out per second.

Thanks
Jonathan/SeaSerpant

It is impossible to say how many of the "tiny bubbles" should be coming out per second. Further, diy has no "standard" bubble rate or the like. I'd say anywhere from 1-2bps to 1 bubble every 3 seconds (we're talking about bubles prior to you diffusing them).

won't the end of a cigarette just corrode and clog it up?
