Plant Bulb Question.

Ok my LFS has a VERY slim choice in plants, So does the local wal mart(and their plants look crappy) So i am left Locally with buying Plant bulbs which leaves me 3 choices in plants Hybrid Aponogeton, Dwarf Lilly and Lilly bulbs, Which is where my question comes in What is the best way to sprout these bulbs? I Seem to have a VERY low success rate getting them to Sprout. Should i start them in like some Miracle grow and water under a desk light in a cup or what?

I was thinking maybe 2 tablespoons of miracle grow in a large cup of tank water?

Any thoughts? No the miracle grow would not get anywhere near my tank before someone says it.

Why can't you get plants online instead?

I think you would drop the bulbs in your tank, no Miracles necessary. At their bulb stage they don't need concentrated fertilizer. Either they sprout or they are dead (maybe couple of years on the shelf) and then they don't sprout. I got some nice Aponogetons but there have been many zombies as well.

I'll second the question... why not buy online?

The short answer No Credit card,No Bank Account,No Pay Pal. I have to use cash or Money Order. and Money is in VERY VERY short Supply, I am in the middle of a disability claim, Bad Back, and 2 bad knees And cant Work, so if it wasnt for my parents i would be homeless and starved to death by now. Until my disability claim is decided i pretty much have Only the money my mom gives me from time to time, Which isn't much.

toss em in your tank and they may or may not grow. its like waking a hibernating bear, it may or may not kill you (but seriously, if they turn mushy squeeze em open and smell it)
