some sort of lily pad

Hi guys,

could someone help me ID this lily pad plant. It has a thin stem 2inches long at most and VERY thick heavy root base and then lots of stringers below that. It seems to grow in both immersed water and wet muddy dirt here in Northern Alabama

I'd like to grow it to feed it to my turtle, but I really need to know what it is before I do so.

thanks!

Todd

It sort of looks like Glechoma hederacea also called creeping charlie. Did the plants you get have any kind of flowers on them?

no flowers. I don't think it's Glechoma Hederacea, the edges of the leaves are smooth and rounded not somewhat jaggedie as the Glechoma Hederacea

they seemed to grow equally well in wet Alabama red clay and/or immersed.

I'm trying to set up my tank so that 1/2 is immersered and 1/2 is submerged, but that the submerged side is 12inches deep which enables other plants with long root/stems to grow.
