How long does it take to root?

I planted a tank last week, and want to get in to do some maintenance, but it was prohibitively easy to uproot everything in the tank, so i thought i'd hold off until the plants rooted a little bit. How long do you think i should wait before digging in without fear of half my plants ending up on the filter intake?

3 weeks or so I would guess to take a good hold. Could be longer.

Probably depends on the type of plants and their growth rate.

Hopefully so, because the plants will have been in there for about 3 weeks before i have to move them to school

I've noticed that some plants stay rooted better than others. Crypts obviously are well rooted (the roots are about 3 miles long), but the chain sword has issues staying down (the runners are the only things holding them down), and the microsword needs replanting daily.
