About to order dry ferts

What all do I need to buy? My plants are growing very nicely but it's getting expensive to replace seachem bottles every so often. I currently use Tetra Flora Pride, Flourish Comp, Excel, and root tabs/osmocote.

Plants are cabomba, swords, Java fern, water wisteria, and water sprite.

Also do I need to buy anything for measuring or can I guesstimate with home teaspoons? I'm lost!

Hi Aparker2005,

After I started my third planted tank I too decided to dose dry ferts to save some money. I am currently using the Estimative Index method (EI Method) developed by Tom Barr. I use potassium nitrate and mono potassium phosphate as my Macro ferts along with CSM+B and Seachem Comprehensive as my Micro ferts. There are several places to purchase these online, I have purchased from aquariumfertilzier.com for years; not only do they ship quickly but I always received quality ferts. A pound of each of the three nutrients listed above will last you a long time.

As for dosing spoons for my dry ferts I use a set of dash pinch smidgen nip spoons available on Evilbay for about $6.

10 gallon, low light, no Co2; dosing EI ferts + Seachem Flourish + Excel (glutaraldehyde)

^I got mine from him as well.

Plus picked up a pair of soap dispensers to use as fert dispensers.
