A question for everyone...

How much time do you spend on your fish tank each week? I am semi- retired so I spend almost an hour every day just watching it or looking for something to improve. Post your times please.

The fastest way to success is patience.

Best,

Joe

I have them in the same room as my computer, which is also my bedroom, so whenever I'm not with the girlfriend or working, I'm in that room. So about 3 hours a day as I stare between 6 tanks and my computer. About an hour actually doing stuff to them a week.

Not going to lie. I look in it everyday but I not always obsessively. Sometimes I watch it for 2-3 minutes at a time and sometimes I will sit with the TV off an look at it. My home is not complete without an aquarium though.

It's across my room. I stare at it A LOT. It's planted and I find it so cool watching the plants sway gently.
Sometimes while doing my Hw or watching tv I check and see what my fish are doing. So Im constantly watching it and finding stuff that needs improvement too

Now for actual maintenance , about 30 minutes for a water change weekly,5 minutes to scrub algae, 10 minutes to trim plants, and 5 minutes to dose fertilizers every other day.

Lol. I catch my self looking in mine at least 4-5 min. A day and an hour on weekends for maintenance on both tanks. its good therapy

I have one 7.5 on my desk and watch/play with the betta in there for an hour or so a day. Otherwise, I realistically spend maybe 30 minutes a day in total with my other 6 tanks. All are 20 gallons or smaller.

I have a 55g and 29g set up in our dinning room, so they get daily attention (about 30min daily, and 1-2 hours on sunday mornings)

I have an 8.7g dirt tank in our hallway that I pretty much ignore and change the water once a month.

Second bedroom has a 10g that I treat much the same as the 8.7

countless hours!

Oh jeeze, I'd hate to figure that out! My 3 tanks are in the living room with my laptop so it's off and on all day staring at them (and occasionally - too often? - finding something I must do). I also have 6 Colombian Zebra Plecos who hide so I have to spend time searching for them, peering into caves with a flashlight. Four baby red BNs that I have to watch close up; a community tank with 10 Rainbowfish and 3 BNs, a pair of which have just spawned. That'll mean even more time watching and peering into a cave! Soon there'll be another tank right next to my computer station... Obviously I'm here all day in order to *accomplish* all this (retired, thankfully!)!

My parents think I'm nuts for spending to much time on my aquarium.

I have so many tanks... it takes me at least 10 - 15 minutes just to feed everyone each day. And that doesn't count time watching and inspecting fish, inverts, plants, counting, taking inventory, worrying about stuff, procrastinating cleaning, water changes, topping off. I'd say probably at least an hour or more each day that I'm home. Longer on the weekends if I do mass maintenance.

Therapeutic too, especially in the winter. Nice to see all of that color when everything is so dismal outside.

Best Guesstament : 2 hours a day looking at and/or working in tanks
Another 2 hours a day reading/researching about tanks/fish/plants

The wheel turns.
