Anyone using seachem pond matrix?

I have several large buckets of seachem pond matrix and plan to put it in my sump. Can I just put it in certain chamber or do I need to put it in a bag first?

Thanks

If it is clean, not dusty/muddy, you could just dump it in, but I prefer putting these sorts of things in bags so it is easier to remove for cleaning. A mesh bag makes it much easier to lift it all out, plunge it into a 5 gallon bucket to rinse it, then return it to the sump.
While it is out of the sump, good opportunity to clean the sump.
I find it frustrating to have to pick out each bit by hand for cleaning.

I agree, a couple mesh lingerie bags with zippers would be ideal, especially if you are using a couple buckets of pond matrix.

I use the pond matrix in my Eheim filters, especially the large ones.

Thanks for the advise, that what I was thinking a bag might be better. I think I have seen these types of bags at walmart. Unless something specific to aquariums? Yes I have 3 buckets full of the pond matrix.

Mess laundry bags from the $.99 store or panty hose should do the trick.
