Post Your Good Reads

Just wanted to share this excellent write-up about color temperature. It's basic, but there's solid science here, and good information in the links as well. As a hobbyist, I want to spread accurate knowledge, not parrot fallacies. Enjoy. http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/li...nted-tank.html

A full write up on lighting, spectrum, photosynthesis. How different spectrum affects growth form etc. Aimed at land plants, but the learning points are similiar.

This site has been around for a while. I don't believe it is ever updated, but it's informative and I like the way it's written. There's plenty to keep you occupied for a little while too.

It is a great article, but I would NOT recommend miracle gro for the substrate. A friend used her advise exactly- it grows plants wonderfully, but it turned our basic water too acidic for the shrimp to breed (that is what we think). Try a different soil type...

What a pleasant surprise, I wasn't sure this would take off Thanks for all your contributions. We need more true information and less myth-swapping in this hobby... And now, I've got a pleasant stack of reading. Keep it coming, fellow fish nerds!

This webpage was amazing. The sheer volume of information is incredible. A shame its no longer being updated.
