Wanting to do major re-scape, but have existing root tabs.

I put root tabs in about 2 weeks ago, but now I would like to do a major re-scape. Is this do-able or should I just wait a few months for root tabs to get used up?.

If you can find the tabs and make sure they end up at the bottom again, then go for it. But some tablets fall apart pretty quickly, and would end up too well mixed with the substrate to separate.

Its going to be very messy. I had to move some jungle val yesterday in a spot that had root tabs from a week ago. My water is still cloudy..

I don't mind the mess (it'll eventually clear up). What I don't want is to have a spike in nitrites if the tabs get introduced into the water column. All my parameters are good right now, I'm a beginner, but I'm just am a little bored with my current layout and am being inspired by some of the nicely scaped tanks I see on here.

Yeah I just had an issue with the tabs being disturbed, nitrates went up the chart. After rescape just test your water the day after and do water change if needed.

Get some driftwood or rocks and lay them out in a different pattern each day, and take a few pictures.
Decide what you like.

By the time you have tried half a dozen or more layouts the root tabs will be better dissolved, so you can implement the layout you like with the least disturbance ('cause you know what you are doing) and any tablets that get disturbed will be mostly used up.
