uprooted plants: will they still grow fine?!

I have some smaller crypt.species, lays really flat to the ground but have wavey leaves unlike crypt parva. Unknown to me what it is.

Anyhow, the odd one tends to get uprooted to the point where its just out of the substrate but caught in other plants close by so it doesn't float away. This also happens to the odd stem from various species I have.

If I were to leave them.in place would the plant still grow and thrive? Must the roots be in the substrate? It seems its always the same few plants this happens to, I hate constantly replanting.

Thoughts?

Maybe your unknown crypt is crypt wendtii? Many plants in nature don't get to grow perfectly in the substrate I think they'll be fine.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

K, no clue then, all I have is parva and windtti. Maybe post a photo of the unknown in the plant section for an ID?

As long as the plant is stationary in one place, the roots will grow into the substrate eventually.

You could replant it one more time, then put a pebble on it to help keep it down.
