Hardware store ammonia

Went to the local Hardware store and bought ZForce extra strength ammonia. It does not list surfactants but is sudsy when shaken.
Does anyone know if this has detergents in it?

appreciate the help

General rule seems to say if it makes suds it does have detergent. And from reports I've read and my search, ACE hardware seems to have the market on ammonia without. Some from Wally world doesn't list it on the label but makes suds. I tried it to avoid driving across town and it was really bumming my fishless start. I had to drain, rinse and restart.

Surfactants

Hey RUNuts
Surfactants are not always list on the ingredient list.If the
container is opaque and suds are viewed upon shaking,I would definitely
avoid using the product.Pure ammonia, when shaken, should have bubbles
popping out and disappearing, like you were shaking water.Keep looking,
try pharmacies, that's where I found the one I'm using for cycle I'm doing as I type this.Good luck.
Cheers

Appreciate the input. I'll put this bottle with the cleaners.
Yes, the bubbles became sudsy & lingered. That prompted my question since I know amines will foam. But don't remember how long.

I'll hit the pharmacy & see if I can speed up the cycling a bit. Still showing ammonia from the osmocote pill I dropped in. I expected a drop sooner than this with the plants.

Other sources of ammonia would include fish food. Use the highest protein fish food. If nothing else it will get the cycle going, and keep feeding the bacteria until you find the right ammonia.

Look also in Dollar Tree sorts of stores.

There's another potential source of ammonia listed in this article:

Ace hardware store "Janitor's strength ammonia" 100% safe for cycling, used in all my tanks, very cheap, bottle still over half full!

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

Like Diana said I found my ammonia at the dollar store, seemed to work well and no surfactants.
