Osmocote

Just got in from home Depot with a 1lb can of osmocote for my plants. It's the small granules.

How do I go about dosing these? I have a 55g with Amazon swords, wisteria, Water sprite, cabomba, and Java Fern. Thanks!

Stick some in the substrate. Only a pinch of pellets per spot. Space them out about five to six inches (each pinch not each granule) but only put them where they're actually needed.

Stem plants will benefit some but they prefer water column feeding

The best way to do this is to put them inside of 00 gel caps (evilbay) and push down to bottom of tank. They tend to pop up if you don't. One gel cap full every 6 inches. I replace every 3- 4 months. Do water change immediately after insertion if substrate is badly disturbed during the process.

The fastest way to success is patience.

Best,

Joe
