Question about my setup
Hello, I have started a planted tank and been reading a lot about it since my start (2 months ago). but, I wanted to make sure I don't miss important advice.
I got a 30 Gal tank
Fish:6 danio, 6 rasbora, 1 neon, 1 small bottom feeder, 1 small snail, 1 big red eye balloon and 2 ghost shrimps.
1-Is this tank overcrowded? could I add more and do you have a suggestion?
Light is : 104 leds 7000K, 56 leds True 660nm deep red, 8 leds acticanic blue
light is Finnex Planted+ 30 inchs. this light runs for 7-8 hours day. but a little indirect light still light the tank in between (morning and evening).
2-when they say 8 hours light/day does it mean blackout after that or a little indirect light is ok?
3- is this too much or not enough light? how would you compare it to the top ultimate lightning setup possible?
4-Should it be controlled and dimmed morning time and evening time or it doesn't matter?
I had a 2L DIY CO2 setup with a nano diffuser (CO2 gauge indicated a green color) . Sometimes (every 3 days or everyday when DIY setup is off) flourish excel is added
5-is this enough for so my plants are happy?
Flourish (2 times per week) and Flourish Iron when needed
6- Should I add root tab and other additive so plants get more nutrients?
when water is changed (once or twice a week 20-30% change) I add Prime.
7-Should I add something else or change more water ?
pH indicate something around 6.6-6.8...
8- how does pH is controlled in a planted tank if the CO2 pushes it down?Let's say you need Lots of CO2 but wanna keep the pH at 7, is this Doable? how? please explain science behind I'm not afraid of little education
Is there something I should do or add in order to keep this tank from doing Algae or getting bad. cause for the past few weeks I've had very bad experiences. First Ich issue (bad fish from LPS), then Algae bloom (left house 2 days with an indirect 100W bulb lights open (can't believe this had create an algae bloom...)). and Now I think I have Rhizoclonium, and from what I understand it's due to not enough CO2.
so tonight I'm going to purchase a paintball tank and put more CO2.
