Question little bugs in my tank?

i was re-scaping my 46 gal bow front and saw these little bugs underneath my rocks they allmost look like fleazs or something and kinda look like little baby shrimp but i dont think they are consetering i dont have shrimp in my 46 gal but i did a while back.i couldnt take pics because they are so small but if i see some again i will try to take pics.does anyone know what these are?

when i was vacumming the gravel in my QT tank i saw the same thing. except when i looked closer it turns out that the were baby fry from my danios. those things are reproducing like heck.


i wander what it could be. how does it swim?

does it look like a crustacian or something
maybe a copepod
or maybe some form of daphnia, although i don't know how big they are or if they're visible to the naked eye

try and get some pics, that oughta help

and yes, i love my otos. you should have alot more, probably like 2 per 10 gallons

When I clean out my sponge filters I see little black crustaceans running around the bucket. Like little pepper specs with legs. I think they are harmless. If yours sound like that i wouldn't worry.

Sounds like a FW Copod and yes they do exist lol, good lil buggers to have(yes pun intended) they are Detivores and eat waste excellent part of a clean up crew!

i have some copepods in my tank - cyclops....they're little white looking specks that are, in my case, usually sliding along on the glass.

I agree with above. Cyclops are very common and annoying. They are tiny and kinda look like fleas. Scuds would be too big to look like baby shrimp. Daphnia, I doubt it since it would be eaten already and again too big.
