Tank Pruning

Hi:

My tank is like a mess. It seems to be healthy, however, there seems to be some plant takeovers. The Apongeton has taken over. And I feel like I just can't very well put it in my 2.5 Beta because it is too big for that.

The water lettuce roots are taking over the tank. Do I just cut those?

The water wisteria is past the top of the tank, the lemon bacopa is huge. The Amazon Sword has daughters? The Java moss is..mossy.

The only things that it seems are actually growing slowly are the S. Repens (which I don't want to grow slowly) and well, that is it.

Only my sagittaria is not doing well but I think that is because I don't have it planted correctly.

I think I may do a water change tomorrow so while I'm at it, I want to prune this thing down.

Ought I post pictures to ask for advice on what to do? I am not sure how to prune any of this? It is just a wild jungle.

Thanks!

Cut, cut, cut

Watter lettuce roots will grow back. Wisteria stems can be cut and re-planted (you're lucky there, because I can't get mine to grow). I hack giant leaves off of my Amazon sword all the time. It just keeps growing new leaves.

How did you plant your sag? Mine grows like crazy in most any condition.

It is kind of not really planted. I am wondering if it is not getting enough light as some is turning yellow.

Water wisteria for me grows in any sad condition. I buy mine emersed from the nursery on Clarkson. In fact I buy quite a few water plants there. It is much cheaper than the lfs or something and you get a whole pot. It is just a pain to remove the dirt and wash it super thoroughly and dip if you want.

I may develop MTS because I feel like I need another tank to plant in. I might get a five Gallon for my room if I can find a cheap one.

You are MTS just waiting to happen ;-)

I'd be willing to part with my other Fluval View, since I still haven't planted the first one. You could get a shrimp tank going. Muahahahahahaha!
