why are my plants folding up? i have some crypts and some other kind, not sure the name of it, but they grow a new leaf every couple days, and normally lie down torwards the ground, i turn the lights on, and the are straight up in the air.....any ideas?

Same with my crypts. They seem to stay low under very high lighting. I just moved one of them to a low light tank and all the leaves turned and grow upward since. Looks like trying to get closer to the light or something.

i tested my water, and looks as if i am out of nitrates could tah be why? they are hungry :?

I really have no clue. They were laying low when my nitrate was at 3ppm. After I jacked it up to 10 ppm, many of them started to stand up. Looks like ours react tottally opposite :?:

Lots of plants orient their leaves vertically during down times (i.e., nonphotosynthesizing periods/night). It's more easily noticed in stem plants but rosette plants can do it as well.
