Water-change drip method advice needed

I'm considering using a continuous drip & an overflow piped to a drain for a 110gal tank. How fast should I have the water flowing into the tank for reasonable turn-over rates?

At first, this seems simple... a medium speed drip is about 20ml / min = 190gal / month. But since some of the drip water will be going out the overflow with every drip, the actual turnover rate will be somewhat less. I think the actual number would require calculous to calculate & since I'm feeling lazy I'm not going to try & figure it out. So I was hoping some of you might have some practical experience to share on the matter.

Thanks!
