At some point it will be easier and more precise to use solutions. If you plan on eventually dissolving the 1/16 teaspoon, mix up a diluted solution, say 1/4 teaspoon per 100 ml, and then dose 25 ml of that each time. Or whatever volume seems best.

Or some people buy a gram scale from ebay.

Its about 10 dollars (including shipping) and you just need to find out how much tsp=gram.

The only thing that gets moldy for me is KNO3. All of my other solutions stay pretty clear. If you keep it in the fridge it does not get moldy at all.

For me it's the opposite... the N, P, and K mixture stays clear, the TE gets this gross white stuff floating around in the bottle. I guess that's mold or fungus.

The only dumb question is the one not asked. I know them quite well. They are the ones I thought were dumb questions and I went ahead without asking and everything went wrong.

Thank you for asking the question. Now I know where to turn to when I need to make some itty-bitty measurements.

Just about anything can grow fungus if not kept in an airtight container. Spores are typically airborne. They are ferts, after all
