Sounds like relatively nice water to me.

Is there something you are noticing with your plant growth?

KH is carbonate hardness. Some plants are able to utilize some of the compounds measured by kH as part of their carbon source. Which is part of why that number can drop over time in a planted tank (in acidic water some of the carbonates can also break down and outgas).

Lots of different compounds make up gH (general hardness), including many that plants need as "trace" elements.

In general, you just want to avoid extremes with either measurement.

Livestock will usually have issues with these parameters before plants will.

its algae growth I am more concerned with. But it does seem like my plant growth is good and steady for a low tech tank.
