eheim pro 3 intake depth?!?!?!

my last thread was about preventing my friends from being [censored][censored][censored][censored]ed up which I think the prefilter will resolve.

second concern I have is, do I have my intake filter set too deep?! its literally right above the substrate. is this idea? or should i remove a section and bring up the the filter about 4" this would place it well above the substrate and might help prevent fish and shrimp from being sucked up too? bad idea?

Depends on how much debris might settle on the bottom. To me it sounds worth a try to just remove one of the sections and watch for a bit. Depends on how much other water movement you have from powerheads, etc. May work, may not and you could get too much grung just settled on the bottom.
