Par and algae

I'm setting up a 10 gallon tank I got for free from a friend who gave up the hobby. I have a spare 12" finnex fugeray that I will be using for the 10 gallon. The light will sit on the glass lid and according to the par charts provided by finnex I should be at 24 par. Is that too much light I'm trying to stay in the low tech side since the only plants I plan to keep are ferns and anubias. Should I worry about a possible massive algae bloom. I can also put the legs and it should raise the light an inch or two.

If you use it just flat on the glass I'd still place something between it and the glass to allow heat to escape, but mostly to keep harm from the bulbs. Anything that will keep the bulbs from touching the glass.
It won't be to much light but you may find it doesn't make the colors of anything stand out in any way.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight the opposite direction...
