Removing wool from amazon sword

I just received a large amazon sword. I managed to get the pot off and started taking off the wool stuff, but how on earth do I get it all off?! It's really into the roots...like a tootsie roll at the center of a tootsie pop :P

I already had to trim the roots to get the little pot off. They were about 5 inches long. I really don't want to damage them! Any tips?

I soak the wool and plant roots in a bucket of water to get the wool softened up and then pick it out with tweezers.

Dump the plant in sink with running water. Toothpick helps.

As per my other reply, you want the roots trimmed to ~2" short.

I managed to get it all out after soaking it and working on it for a long time with tweezers. Thanks
