So, I'm looking to acquire a particular tank, only sold at Petsmart. Do they typically have Fathers Day or 4th of July sales? Anything you guys know of coming up in the next month or two where I might be able to save a buck on a tank?

I'm looking for a 25 gallon tank. Not 20, and not 29. I have a particular 26.25" wide spot on my desk, and this petsmart tank will fill it perfectly, at ~24 inches wide. The one at Petsmart is only sold with a stand, and costs $165. It's not too outrageous, but it's still a lot of money compared to other tank/hood combos. I'll try and sell the stand as I have no place for it, but I probably won't get much, and I'd rather just not have to deal with it in the first place.

The only other 25g tank I can find is the Aqueon combo, which has a lot of nice stuff, but is $200. It does come with T5 lighting, and is advertised as a two-bulb hood, but many people say it only actually comes with one. According to the interwebs, what you actually get in the combo isn't guaranteed and they pretty regularly replace what's advertised with something a step down in quality. Ie: single instead of double light, strip thermometer instead of digital, things like that. I'm just not a gambler.

If anyone knows of any other tanks that are greater than 20 gallons but less than 26" wide then I'd love to hear about it. Any sort of advice is welcome too.

friends and family weekend coming up I think june 5 - 8, you can save 15% but i think you gotta make a purchase before hand to get a coupon on your receipt. might get lucky and catch one on sale? I think the sales just changed for the month.

Look on here for the 20 tall model to see if you think it may work for you.
It would seem easier to light than what you are looking at now.

Is the tank a part of a kit? I think I know which one you're talking about. I remember the Petsmart near me had it on sale for $99

I know what your talking about, that 25 gallon planted aquarium kit? I'm pretty sure Petsmart has discontinued those since to make room for their new tanks of the National Geographic line.

At least I know the ones around here have. They were clearenced at 99 dollars. then 60 bucks.

Not really sure what you should do. I think the one with the stand goes on sale every once in awhile, though

Why not just call the store and ask? Takes the guess work out of it.
