Snails in my septic tank?

What is the likelyhood of aquatic snails surviving in the septic tank? There could be some aerobic and anarobic zones that might accomidate them. I know they would not be harmful, maybe even helpful. Has anyone confirmed?

I would think the ammonia from the break down of waste would take out the snails.

No snails in septic tanks that I've seen. They hold their breathe for too long and die! Even a snail has higher standards than that.
