How would you guys decorate or theme the tank

I just moved my guppies from a 10 gallon to a 55 gallon, so I've got an empty, stable 10 gallon and I'm thinking of getting a betta. Here's one I really like:

http://img42.com/TKQGc

I woke up and had an awesome idea about how I'd decorate the tank for him at about 3am this morning...but now it's gone. Pretty sure it had something to do with an asian theme, but the gravel in the tank is river stone colored although I do also have some play sand. I'm not sure it would "match" the fish above lol. I love shopping for new plants and decorations, but the price of gravel kills me, so I don't want to buy any of that. Anyway, what kind of tank do you guys see that fish in? How about this one:

Or this one:

I'm terrible at interior decorating in my head and could use some inspiration I'm having a hard enough time with my 55 gallon...It looks a lot more like a tank littered with plants in chinese food containers than the sunlight-through-the-canopy serene forest I was going for....

I've seen some really cool bamboo designs. You plant it so the stalk breaks the waters surface, makes the beta look like he is swimming through a forest. Then maybe some red and green crypts on the bottom to fill in and match that red coloration.

Avoid anything sharp (what's dull to you may still be sharp for their fins) including decor, rocks, and wood. Personal prefer ace for me is natural tanks (no man made decor or colorful substrate) so can't offer any advice on decorations from experience. My niece tried keeping betas for a bit and had gotten some little Asian temple decor from petsmart.

The bamboo forest mentioned above sounds cool, live bamboo seems rather expensive at petstores, see if you can find some "growing wild" people will plant some in their yard and it become rampant infestation.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.

just look at some tanks in that size range on here and see what you like!
I hade a hard time with this to but after looking at some tanks I got a LOT of inspiration. just remember even if you think you have what you want, keep looking at other tanks. I started with one design and it is still slowly evolving into something better.

good luck with your tank!

Thanks all I had to go out of town for a couple days so couldn't reply, but I just won a betta on ebay - The pictures of the other bettas also came from ebay, but the black and red one was purchased by someone else before I could get it and I lost the bid on the multi colored one I really like the look of the one I'm getting though!

Thanks for the bamboo suggestion
I did a bit of research on lucky bamboo - not really bamboo, but looks good and easier to keep alive in an aquarium. There are lucky bamboo pineapples - the stalks are woven to sort of look like a pineapple. If I remove some of the stalks, I think it might make a really cool cave for the fish (and it'll look less like a pineapple lol). I could put that in the center of the tank and it looks just the right size that it won't take up much valuable swimming space. I'm also thinking of adding brazilian pennywort, some riccia fluitans, and some water sprite to the tank. In my head, those plants match lol. I think I'll make the background of the 10 gallon black too.

I'd really like to put an african dwarf frog in the tank as well. With the bamboo though, I think I'd have to have an open tank. I wonder if I left the water line an inch or two below the top of the tank if the frog would be ok or if he would try to escape by climbing the bamboo. I haven't read any escape stories online. Some people say that they've kept open tanks and never had any problem, and some say that every tank should just have a lid anyway. Any thoughts?

And if you have any suggestions for other plants, please let me know!
