Is this dip just for algae?

1:19 bleach to water ratio.

Just a quick dip, rinse really well afterwards (tap is fine). I'd probably also soak them in a little water with dechlor mixed in, just to make sure you get rid of all the chlorine in the bleach before you put them in your tank.

Probably don't need to dip the roots unless they're covered in algae.

Some of the more delicate plants and mosses don't hold up well to bleach. Many of those can tolerate hydrogen peroxide, though- which is also effective against many algaes.

I don't mind the 'pest' snails so i usually just rinse new plants, let the snails grow and toss them in eh dwarf puffer tank. If plants have algae I do dips.. whole plant, rinse well and wipe algae off with a damp paper towel or soft small towel. Then i usually soak them in a bucket with a lot of extra dechlorinator just to be on the safe side before they go in the tank.

Due to photobuckets new bs cost for use of images on forums I have deleted all photobucket accounts. I apologize if you enjoyed or found my photos helpful.
