So I usually keep the Wolffia in check by simply scooping them out on the surface of the tank. Well I went on vacation and when I came back, I had a disaster. This stuff propagated like mad.

That duckweed probably did you a favor, by dropping the light intensity for the other plants so you didn't get a big algae attack. Now that you are back, it isn't that hard to scoop it out with a net, usually taking a few tries before you get all of it.
