best curbside score EVER!!!

so i was on my way home today and right on the corner by my house i saw what looked to be a tank just sitting there. so being the fish junkie that i am, i had to go check it out. to my surprise it was an old school ten gallon with the stainless steel rim on it. i snatched it up and took it home of course. just filled it to leak test and it appears its water tight so far. if it holds, it looks like ive found my new shrimp tank . got my fingers crossed.

I don't know how it couldn't be dry as old as it is, but could have been in use till recently replaced. Great deal. A bead of that black industrial silicone along the inside seems wouldn't be noticed if it does start to leak.
Every time I spot one under similar circomestances it turns out to be broken on the side I couldn't see as I approached it. Were it one of those I'd fix it but only the modern kind is what I've seen.

The shortest distance between any two points is a straight line...in the opposite direction...

lucky you, I want one of the old metal frames, I would probably go ahead and replace the slate bottom if it has not been done already

the bottom has been replaced with frosted glass and the seams have been resealed on the inside. didnt think about the slate bottoms that they normally had. i think the tank was in use until fairly recently. if i knew which one of my neighbors put it on the curb i would just go ask the history on the tank.
