Bleach Dip

i did a search and couldn't find exactly what i wanted, i am having a problem with getting some GSA on a few of my plants and i know that this is caused by low PO4 and high light and i am working on that. In the mean time how do i bleach dip my plants to ge rid of the GSA for the mean time. I have heard a 20:1 soluation for 1:30 - 2 minutes is this okay? Also what do i do afer the bleach dip soak in dechlor(if so how long? and the ratio to water?) how long before i can up the plants back in the tank. I have alos heard dont put the roots in the bleach dip is this true or not? Thanks in advance

What type of plants are you planning to dip? Some are more sensitive to bleach than others

IIRC, java fern and anubias handle bleach dips pretty well. I don't personally know about the crinum. 20:1 for ~1-2 minutes should be fine. You can soak it in dechlorinated water for ~an hour or so (until you can no longer smell any bleach at all

However, lots of times this is really unnecessary. You could try just trimming away the infected leaves. If you get your parameters in order, the algae shouldn't come back after that. Just my $0.02

honestly when i did it when i did the bleach dip for only 1:30 sec all the algae did not die. now i do about 2.5 min and all algae is gone. some plants to disengrate from this like vals. everything else i have from wisteria, cambomba, ludwigta, hc, hm, dwarf hairgrass, anubias, and glosso did not suffer much from the dip. i jus replant everythign and remove any leaves as they die daily for about 2 weeks.
