Mosses are very hardy! can't seem to kill it, not that I was trying to.

I had some big mats of different mosses that I wasn't to mix up and put all on my driftwood. I honestly wasn't sure if doing this would just kill the moss or not but I took the chance as I wanted this specific look for my tank.

I began by cutting everything up into 1" little chucks of moss, I put it all in a bucket and mixed it all up. Then applied it to the driftwood using thread and wrapping it all up to get the desired look.

Over the next week it looked really bad alot went brown and dead looking. But I could still see a bit of green. Keep in mind all this moss was in 95% good shape before cutting it up.

Its been a little bit since then and now everything has greened up to bout 80%. a lot of new growth as well.

I used java, flame, and christmas moss and I can't wait till the first trim. maybe in a couple more week. Just thought I would share for anyone wanting to try something similar.

how did this work for you? I checked your journal but didn't see anything specific to the different mosses/method posted here but was considering doing something similar. Is this what is on the driftwood on your journal page or seperate tank? Any updates? pics? close-ups? very curious how this moss-mix would look overtime.
