29 Stocking ideas

Hey everyone,

I am moving and would like to redo my 29g. I want to make it a lil more exciting and/or more challenging than the community tank it is now.

One condition, I have an angelfish i bred myself I would like to keep in there, is this possible?

Welcome to TPT!

I personally wouldn't keep angelfish in less than about a 55gal; they need depth to a tank plus swimming room.

When you say "more exciting" I assume you mean you want to add plants?

Can you tell us more about your setup; substrate, lighting, CO2, ferts, other livestock...

What are your goals for this tank? High maintenance/fast-growing or low maintenance/slow growing?

A 29g really only works for angels if it is pretty much bare...they need room.

I can find a home for the angel

i'm looking for something not TOO high maintenance, but something that will keep me entertained. Just some really interesting fia and nott too many plants. I already have basically a forest tank.

any ideas on cool fish?

Let's see, cool fish for a 29gal tank...

You could set up a species tank, a biotope, a shrimp tank, a colony tank...

I actually answered a "what would you do" thread recently along these lines and I said my next tank this size would be an Asian-themed tank, probably with some wild Betta species, loaches, rasboras... so that would be my personal choice?

GO for a shell dweller tank? N. multifasciatus and you can do some low light plants
