Removing snails

I've been lurking and asking questions about snails for a month or so. While I know some people feel that snails are acceptable some of us do not want them.

During my quest I ran into this product, everything I read says that it works good with the only problem being possible harm to helpful bacteria. This is no problem to me because I intend on quarantining all my plants before they hit the main tank. I believe I will also give my plants a light Hydrogen Peroxide bath to kill algae just before I put them in the main tank.

My suggestion is to wash the plants good in a mild salt solution gently using a toothbrush. Add the plant to the quarantine tank and leave it there for three weeks to insure that all eggs are hatched and the fry killed. Take them out, dip in mild Hydrogen Peroxide solution, rinse and add to main tank.

This is good for me because I have set up a quarantine with advantageous soil and lighting and I find it easier to work on plants in a Small 10 gallon quarantine if you have a deep tank like mine.

The product is eSHa GASTROPEX and it's not sold in the states but UK folks are willing to ship to US and a 10ml bottle (160 litres water) runs less than $10 with shipping

There are other methods such as Bleach bath, Alum bath and Potassium Permanganate bath. All methods have both merit and problems and they're best described here.

No biggie, forum members have helped me so I wanted to repay
