HELP - Something wrong with my plants

PH: 6.8
Temp: 82F
12 Gallon Nano

Fauna:
2x german blue rams (mating pair)
3x otocinclus

Flora:
3 Rosette swords
5 narrow leaf swords
4 java fern

Using Flourish Comprehensive and Leaf Zone.
LED Lighting 1x blue 2x 6700k 3 watt 2x 10k 3watt ( Solar Flare LED 115 )
CO2 via yeast reactor but switching to compressed.

All plants are going transparent in the middle of the leaf.. some are getting brown edges.. occasional holes in the leaves.. leaves simply detaching from base. Ferns are fine.. swords are just flat out dying it seems.

Begging for help here because i can't tell why this is happening all the sudden. Im providing light, co2 and ferts .

I don't get itÖ is this a deficiency?

Ive attached pictures to show what I'm talking about

Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like either nitrate, potassium deficiency, or maybe something else. I highly recommend you use root fertilizer tabs for the swords you have there. Sword plants are quite the heavy-root feeders, so they would really benefit a lot from tabs, if you provide them with it. Good luck.

I know this is the wrong area for this question but does anyone know what type of swords are in the left middle of the tank next to the CO2 diffuser?

i bought them labelled narrow leaf sword but no other information and i cannot find them anymore.

They grow like a weed in my other tanks without frets and low lighting.

Oops, sorry.

Maybe a still a bit young to identify that sword plant, but I'm positive that is a amazon sword plant. Oh yeah, forgot to mention.. those sword plants you have there will outgrow your 12 gallon. They will become huge Just a heads-up.

weird in the other tanks it won't grow more than 6-8 inches and stays narrow… even more odd it doesn't send shoots out to reproduce it clones at the root base.

i took it to aqaurium adventure and the plant expert had no clue what it was, but was sure its a type of sword.

I am leaving towards nitrates more than anything else. What's your nitrates at in the tank?

They have a deficiency thread on here, but it's just been started so not 100% complete.
Really you are using ferts but missing a couple of main ones.

last i checked about 10PPM or less.. maybe i just don't have enough waste from fish? They get fed a good amount.

I use only liquid fert.. never tried the root tabs yet because I've never had this issue with these before in other tanks.

Using the flourish usually has been enough for the same plants in other tanks.

I also use R/O water with trace elements additives, Not sure if that is contributing to this issue. I just started using R/O a few months ago as my tap water is super high in phosphates/PH/Hardness.

So you might be right.. just did a test and its for sure at 0PPM for nitrates

Question is how do i get them up without increasing the bioload? i figure the plants are just consuming it like crazy.

If you are sure that your nitrates are indeed zero, you can increase it by adding fertilizers.

There are various commercial products out there, or you can look into dosing dry chemicals (potassium nitrate).

i just bought and added the flourish root tabs. Yes i add liquid flourish comp. and leaf zone twice a week.

Confirmed absolute zero, dry stick test and liquid regent test. I found a company that sells a comprehensive fert package that has KNO3 in it.

GLA is very popular on this forum. Many people like their ferts. I've never personally used them, but I know lots of people who are happy with them.
