co2 question...

So I need some help with my co2. I have co2 is connected to a bubble counter, that in turn goes to my inline co2 diffusor. Recently the bubbles going into the counter look "odd" - they aren't as consistent as they have been - they seem to be coming in spurts. Also the line going from my bubble counter to my co2 diffuser and I can see little pockets of water trying to make their way up, but they disperse - it looks as if the co2 coming in isn't constant - thoughts?

Where do check valves fit into your setup? The CO2 ought to be able to push water through the lines just fine though, in a week my new tiny (and basically useless) bubble counter had gone dry from the the CO2 bubbling it up into the lines.

If the bubbles in the bubble counter aren't consistent in terms of timing then I would suspect that your needle valve is having trouble maintaining the exact bubble count you've set it to. Sometimes that's as easy as simply bumping up the working pressure. Perhaps your needle valve or working pressure has slipped?
