Cool light levels/ co2? please help me im a newbie

I have a 4ft 240 litre jewel tank with two 38 watt bulbs. I thinking of setting up a planted tank but dont know how much light this is. is it low light medium or high.and how long do you leave them on for.
also with the co2 kits how long do they last?

You're looking at about 1.2 WPG (watts per gallon) with the setup you have there. Thats a very low light level. There's not a whole lot you would want to grow in that tank besides java fern. You'd probably want to either do some research to find some super-low-light plants, or add about 2 more of those bulbs. I have a light timer set to keep my lights on for 12 hours a day, since thats about what a natural photoperiod is.

If you are talking about a DIY (do it yourself) CO2 kit, it all depends on what size of container you have and what recipe you are using. Over at Aquatic Eden there is a great CO2 recipe that I use, and it lasts about 2 weeks using a 2 liter bottle. Hopefully this helps!

ok do you think 2 58 watt bulbs with reflectors will do?
Because its a jewel hood i can only fit 2 bulbs.
