Juvenille Flag Fish Not Eating!!

I got some american flag fis shipped in on tuesday or wed. and i crush up some bloodworms and they suck them up and spit them back out i also have some spirulina fkaje food that i crush up and basically powerize and they suck it up and spit it out to. These fish are about 1/2 or 3/4 inch long. What can i give them that they will eat, some websites say that that blanched(boiled i am assuming) spinach is something they will eat but i cant see these little guys chewing on something that big and being able to eat it. Can you guys help me out thanks

Josh

Try giving them crushed veggie flakes. They will also eat on algae. They do like boiled spinach but its easier for them to eat if you shred it before putting into tank. Doesn't need to be tied to anything.

"Blanch" means lightly boiled- just enough to soften the veggies but not enough to break down the nutrient content.

Are you doing daily PWC (partial water changes) on their tank? Did you drip-acclimate them? Do they have places to hide in the tank, especially thick plants like java moss or guppy grass?

I am going PWC, but i did not drip acclimate them i have heard of it but i am not really familiar with the procedure. They do have places to hide in the tank but they are not real plants they are fake just because that tank is not set up for real plants. I see the pooping(lack of a better word) every once in a while but i never see them eat anything so i dont see how that is possible

Well if they're pooping then they're digesting something... they are probably eating more than you realize when they "mouth" the food you're putting in. Don't worry, if they're at least mouthing the food then they recognize it as food, probably are just getting used to the taste of new foods.

Like I said previously, just keep the water clean, plastic plants are fine for them to hide in, and I think you'll be fine!
