Thinking of building a rimless tank.

Just one question that I cant seem to figure out. I've read DIY plans over and over but, I need a visual aide to really understand. Lets say I'm building the tank, my bottom pane, do the sides sit on top of the bottom pane to or does the bottom fit inside the four sides? If its done both ways which is stronger? In some pictures it looks like the sides sit on top of the bottom pane and other pictures it looks like the sides are around the bottom pane. Thank you for any help.

Follow this thread up...it has alot of great info https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/di...lass-tank.html . I've wanted to do this myself for a long time, but the price of 3/8" glass around here would run me just over $400, not to mention the right silicone and anything else that comes up.

In the thread he says that he found it best to put the two large pieces of glass on top of the bottom, and the two sides adjacent to the bottom, front, and back.

late to the party but some advice...

You want to put the sides on top of the bottom for both support and it makes ti easier to get a good seal. if you put the sides on top of the bottom then the size of the bottom and all 4 sides is not as critical.
